Fall 2011 RTW: Edun

12 Feb

I thought that this was a mixed bag collection — some looks I adore and others I thought were very poorly constructed. While this collection was without a doubt comprised of very wearable clothing for any type of lifestyle, it was more the way the pieces were organized that I had a problem with. Sharon Wauchob, the designer, was inspired by the Romany people a lot and it manifests itself in the prints — which I think are phenomenal. She did the bold print on contrasting bold print trend so phenomenally, especially with the neutral tones it was magnificent to look at and in the last look, the long sleeved turtle neck with the amoeba looking pale pink print on the navy base color. What I was not so much a fan of was the layering in the show — her jackets and knits were beautiful but layered on top of each other, as one would wear them, they completely overpowered the model and ended up looking sloppy and unflattering (see the second look, second row). On their own, they were interesting and beautiful though (first row, third look).
