Fall 2011 RTW: Rag & Bone

12 Feb

While many of the trends haven’t changed much from last fall to this, the Rag & Bone shows are completely different yet equally amazing. There was a huge futuristic impact that began in their Spring 2011 show and continues through the fall. It can be seen in the cropped jackets and lined pieces and modern cuts. Founder, Marcus Wainwright is quoted as saying backstage that a lot of the inspiration came from the Inuit people and from French skier Jean-Claude Skilly — two opposite ends of the spectrum that work together to produce a magical collection. From the unusual high boots to the pinstripe pants and matching jacket, Rag & Bone’s twist on the masculine feminine and on style itself is always a pleasure and always motivates me to want to purchase literally every item presented.
