Fall 2011 RTW: Rebecca Minkoff

12 Feb

From the first look on the runway I knew that this was going to be the kind of collection that lined my wardrobe this coming fall. With inspiration from model Charlotte Kemp Muhl — a streetsyle guru ingenue — the collection was so wearable for a savvy, young and creative dresser. My favorite pieces were definitely the stylish jackets — the new take on a blazer and the first jacket, the one that looks like shearling in white and then fades into black, the puffy style which makes the model look even more skinny. It’s a brilliant idea. While the main looks in the line were sweaters, hot pants and the leggings with leather stripes — a look that I LOVE — she  made a slight foray into dresses. This didn’t do as much for me as I had expected, the dresses were of a similar feel to them and of the same pattern and cuts.
