Fall 2011 RTW: Lela Rose

13 Feb

This beautiful collection is definitely going to be a staple on the more casual red carpets in coming months. Lela Rose was inspired by a painter, Gerhard Richter. This is an inspiration that is representative in the painted prints in the beginning section of the show. What I loved was the bows — I know, I know, I’m predictable but I thought that these were very well done. They started of subtle, with the patterned, dark colored bow in the drop-waisted dress, and ended the show with the pale rose strapless number with the beautiful bow on the waist. The red, one strap reminds me a lot of the Prabal Gurung dress from his fall collection — showing that great minds think alike and Fall trends are certainly pervasive!
