Fall 2011 RTW: Tracy Reese

15 Feb

Reese’s theme is always based in the seventies – something that worked extra well for her this season. The beginning of the show was filled with cute, chunky sweaters in various colors pleated skirts in crepe or light silk – a great beginning to the show. There was a lot of glitter and glam, but very tastefully done. Reese knows what her buyers are looking for keeping flirty looks in the collection. There were bead embellished pieces and fur skirts that weren’t over the top and totally workable. My favorite aspects of this show were definitely the beginning with the pleated looks paired with sweaters and similarly the embellished skirts — sequins and beading, shiny and attention grabbing — with simple knits. This was a great collection and one made for a real woman.
