Fall 2011 RTW: Isabel Marant

4 Mar

To me, Isabel Marant is Europe’s Charlotte Ronson. They both embody the chic, grunge, casual and stylish yet slovenly look that is so hard to encapsulate but so fantastic when done right. This collection does something for me that Ronson missed this season — it really hits the spot. The boots with the fringe were amazing and the simple elegance and complete ease of each look were completely encompassing. I was so engaged by each look and just thought that the show was phenomenal. The oversized pieces with the shoulders cuffed to draw attention to feminine form underneath the boxy pieces. This is how you create really beautiful and amazing pieces — this attention to the details.
