Pre-Fall 2011: The Row

7 Feb

Around the one year anniversary of their first runway show — the Row put out a very clean Pre-Fall line. While on first glance it may seem like there isn’t much to brag about in this line, there are definitely a few standouts. The Olsen Twins have long established styles of casual/boho chic. Their RTW line takes this style up a notch, for fashionable work clothing for a boho girl. They are consistent with their vision which is an admirable trait. Most standout to me is the black blazer that has an uneven hem (second row). It is just a to die for piece. Very elegant but has an edge, for someone who is more than meets the eye. I also love the long lace dress. Somehow, the twins managed to do a black lace dress that HASN’T been done yet, a feat I previously thought impossible. The variations of blazer/pants were the main event of this show — ones in leather, nude, mixed matched materials…an innovative take on an old idea.

Pre-Fall 2011: Nina Ricci

I am pretty sure that this red dress is possibly the most beautiful creation that I have ever seen in my life. It’s thick lace-embellished cotton, long sleeved with a ruffle one-shouldered collar. I honestly have no words. God. I am sorry. I just can’t stop looking at this dress it truly makes me speechless.

Pre-Fall 2011: Jason Wu

I adore Jason Wu. I just decided to do a top designer post soon — it’s gonna be mad fucking hard. Anyways, there’s menswear inspiration in the pants-suits and sweaters. They are gorgeous and really get me excited for his fall collection coming soon enough.

Pre-Fall 2011: Valentino

21 Jan

I’ve had Valentino on my mind — I was in the offices in New York today too and they are to die for. This Pre-Fall collection is gorgeous. I love the first look and expect to see it a lot on the red carpet — although it kind of reminds me of an iguana, I don’t know why. The lace and bows are very Valentino and very gorgeous. The red that Valentino is known for was pretty absent in this collection only found in the gorgeous simple long thin sleeve and deep ruffled v neck dress and the lovely fur coat. I adore this collection and would kill both for a job in the company and this collection.
